All Have Said the Tone Is Deeper and Richer

Dear Peter,

I've played my new violin for almost two months at home for daily practice and at our church three times per week. I've done two solos so far and both times received positive comments from other musicians in our church (two trumpet players -- one of which is a medical doctor — the other one an engineer who is an excellent pianist). All have said that the tone is deeper and richer than my previous violin. I am able to play several of the Kreutzer Etudes in the higher registers which I have not tried for over 20 years. I can now hear the overtones much easier for intonation refinement especially in the E major etudes nos. 8 and 10. I am also able to achieve cleaner articulation on trills and better response with vibrato. The instrument gives me much more power for our church services with choir and congregational singing.

I am just an amateur violinist (an engineer by vocation). I studied violin up to age 18 and stop playing. I started again at age 34 and have been doing so for 10 years now...

Thanks,

Jim Gnagy
